7th Grade Social Studies

In 7th Grade Social Studies, we are gearing up for a year of tremendous growth and awareness of the society around us and our role in it.

We have just concluded our round-tables and studies in the geography of the United States, which we capped off with a State Capital Bingo Game (congratulations Shoham!) and Capitals Quiz. The students were studying for quite some and are sure to ace it!

In addition, we will be having a debate over who should be the next Mayor of New York. The class has been divided into two teams, one for Mr. Lhota and one for Mr. Di Blassio and will "duke it out" on October 22nd.

This project is based on our theme of the year: citizen rights and responsibilities. Discussions and projects in the class this year will revolve around how the Constitution was formulated. what is the concept and the role behind the Bill of Rights and the development and proliferation of Civil and Human Rights movements.

It is our hope that these studies will help our students attain a true understanding of their roles in society. Please stay tuned to this blog for monthly updates!

Best Wishes,

Mendel Berlin
